Detachment
In Detachment forms remain separate from each other although they may be very close together. This artwork shows detachment through the physical separation of one object from the others. A single, vertical block is shown floating in the air, completely separated from the two rows of horizontal blocks below it. There are no lines, shadows, or other visual cues connecting the top block to the others. Other eleven small boxes also are separated from each other. Shadows were used in all boxes to show them separated from each other. The artwork was very easy to draw and I didn't feel any difficulties.
Touching
Touching is when we move the two forms closer, they begin to touch. The continuous space which keeps the two forms apart in is thus broken. This artwork reflect Touching as a form of interrelationship. The artwork shows touching because all shapes are slightly in touch with each other although they look in lines together due to illusion. Illusion makes it harder to concentrate. It was difficult to carefully planning the initial base lines and maintaining consistent shading.
Overlapping
This artwork represents Overlapping. Overlapping occurs if we move forms closer, one crosses over other appears to remain above, covering a portion or form that appears to be underneath. The artwork shows overlapping through the placement and intersection of lines. The vertical lines are overlapping the horizontal lines creating patterns of hatching and cross hatching. The drawing was easy to draw but different types shapes were little tricky to maintain.
Penetration
In penetration forms appear as transparent, there’s no above and below relationship between them and the contours of forms remain visible. The artwork shows penetration through the use of implied lines and overlapping of shapes. The mountain like shapes suggest an object making it sit over background effectively penetrating. In overall artwork, drawing ing curved lines was difficult in order to develop shapes that are penetrating.
Union
Union is same as penetration but forms are joined together and become a new, bigger form. Forms lose one part of their contours when they are in union. The artwork represents Union. The top lines cross over each other by representation of two separate elements coming together or joining. The diamond shape at the central is formed by four lines that are connected to each other. The two lines at the bottom also coming together same as others.
When an invisible form crosses over visible form, the result is subtraction. The portion of the visible form that is covered up by the invisible form also becomes invisible. Subtraction may be regarded overlapping of negative forms on positive forms. This artwork demonstrates the subtraction through the use of negative spaces. The dark shapes are defined by white, empty spaces around them. This empty spaces have been subtracted from dark shape.
In Intersection only the form where two forms overlap each other is visible. A new, smaller form emerges as a result of intersection. The artwork shows intersection as various geometric and organic shapes overlap and intersect, suggesting a relationship between these shapes where one moves over and under another. The use of solid dark dots represent stippling, adding depth to the intersection. This artwork was one hard ones to draw in bigger framal reference in order to achieve exact symmetry, balance, and measurement.
If we move two forms still closer, they coincide and become one form. This artwork represents coinciding as two triangles in both sides coinciding to become one individual triangle. Diagonal lines line up exactly with the edges of the triangles. The tip of each triangles align perfectly, sharing the same locations which is coinciding.
My favorite one out of these would have to be your detachment or touching design. I like how 3D detachment is and it looks pretty real,. I love the touching design and how it looks like a tunnel into something. it looks the best in my opinion,. The one that needs some work on could be union. Maybe the forms could be shapes better or something could be added to them. I like the concept though.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite one is DEFINITELY touching! I love how it's kind of giving like that abyss sort of feeling when it comes to looking at the piece. It gives off that hypnotizing feeling which I love! Very different from the other drawings I've seen of touching. I can't really find a drawing that looks sort of (off) to me? Every single one of them is pretty good. Just subtraction and intersection for me look the least appealing to me. LOVE the design it's just the way it's portrayed in the drawing is really not my cup of tea. Subtraction looks like a big blop of something related to a monster which I feel eh about, and intersection looks really weird to me. The details are amazing I just don't see myself relating to the art piece so maybe different shading techniques could work?
ReplyDeleteYour artwork, "Detachment," is very clean and powerful, successfully conveying the core spirit of "separation" through simple, three-dimensional blocks. The single, vertically floating block at the top immediately draws the viewer's attention, making the theme instantly clear; while the two layers of horizontal blocks below maintain distance from each other, yet still retain order and connection within the composition, resulting in a picture that is both independent and harmonious. Your handling of shadows is excellent; each block has clear areas of light and shadow without interfering with each other, making each form appear truly "independent." The overall composition is stable, the negative space is clean, and the concept is clear. It is an excellent work with precise conceptual expression, professional visual effects, and a strong sense of design.
